“Outside the Lines” is the theme for the 2016 TEDxTurtleCreekWomen event, scheduled for Friday, October 28, 2016
The day-long immersive event will start with a continental breakfast that allows the audience members to mingle, followed by 7-9 speakers with a lunch break and final reception where audience members can meet the speakers and continue the conversations on ideas worth spreading.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxTurtleCreekWomen, where x=independently organized TED event. At our TEDxTurtleCreekWomen event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
Our TEDxTurtleCreekWomen annual events have featured speakers with unique perspectives and strong connections to North Texas and the women in our community. Some of those ideas including Social Media guru Eve Mayer’s “Fearless Alter Ego,” Karen McCrocklin’s “The Gift Of Living Gay,” Tammy Kling’s “How To Save A Life,” Mindy Cheek on her Journey to Adoption, and CNN journalist Joe Sutton on the Mighty Millennials & Success. Check out all of our past speakers at our “Talks” Tab.
